So far, so good

Things are going very well! Maddy has proven herself to be a wonderful big sister. She has plenty of hugs and kisses for Presley. She likes holding her little sister and she's more than willing to get diapers etc... That being said, we have had a couple of attempts on Presley's life. Nothing we couldn't handle. Hopefully, it won't become a habit.

Presley is doing well too. She had her Dr.'s appointment yesterday and she's back up to 8 pounds and is perfectly healthy. She does have her days and nights confused a bit. So, we're working on that.

So, life in the Solt household is going quite nicely!

Thanks to everyone who kept us in their prayers and sent warm wishes and congratulations on our beautiful baby girl! And thanks to the visitors we've had and for the meals that have been provided. We are blessed to have such wonderful family and friends!

Performing big sister duties.....

An alert Presley.

Welcome Home Presley - Aug 21

Presley's trip home from the hospital was very uneventful! We all took naps and waited for Big Sister to get home.

Welcome Presley Marie

Introducing Presley Marie
Born August 19th, 2008 2:52 AM
Weight: 8 lbs 1 ounce
Length: 20 3/4 inches

Presley came into the world today, with a full set of lungs! Let me just tell you! She did not like all the poking and proding they do around the hospital.

Maddy was very lovey to her new little sister. Even though she said "eewww" when she looked at her the first time and called her Amber (multiple times).

Our first family photo with Presley. Love the hospital gown! :-)

Is it me or do they look alike?
PopPop playing with Presley's gift to Maddy. Anyone else think of ZZ Top when you see this?

Project Baby #2

Here are some pics of our new addition, Presley Marie Solt...

****************************************************
2:52 AM - WE HAVE A NEW ADDITION TO OUR FAMILY...

MEASURING IN AT 20 3/4"
AND WEIGHING IN AT 8 LBS 1 OZ...

IS A HEALTHY LITTLE GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kristen and the baby (unnamed at this present moment) are doing very fine! We will be posting pics of our little darling in the morning.

*****************************************************
2:15 AM - FULLY DILATED AND ABOUT TO START PUSHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*****************************************************
12:30 AM - We are now over 60% efaced and Kristen is getting some sleep before little baby X decides to go towards the light.

*****************************************************
11:00 PM - Epidural is complete and someone is resting comfortably. Kristen is only 4cm dilated, so we are expecting an early morning baby.

*****************************************************
9:30 PM - Oops! Forgot to mention that the water broke sometime this evening. It's time...for the epidural. The pain is increasing and this child is not any closer!

*****************************************************
8:30 PM - Contractions are at a 6/7 now and a couple minutes apart. Unfortunately, I'm only 2.5 cm dialated and the baby hasn't moved down much, if at all. Gonna be a long night.

*****************************************************
6:45 PM - contractions are at a 5 at this point. Nothing else happening.

******************************************************
4:30 PM - Well, I'm dialated 1-2 cm and my contractions are a 4 on a scale of 1-10. So, we could possibly have a baby by midnight....but I'm still (sorta) hopeful for a Tuesday baby! You know, like 12:01 AM. :-)

******************************************************
3:00 PM - Some more contractions...yadda, yadda, yadda, and that's it. Sorry, still nothing new to report. Trying to catch a nap.

******************************************************
12:30 - 1:00 PM - I've had a few minor contractions, but nothing major. The Dr. was just here and gave me another (larger) dose of cytotec. Hopefully, it'll kick things into gear.

******************************************************
10:30 AM - no news......
******************************************************
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM

So, we're in the hospital!!! We "checked in" by 8 am. I'm hooked up to the baby heart monitor, blood pressure cuff and an IV. I've gotten my first dose of cytotec (to induce labor) and now we're just waiting. Stay tuned for updates, as they happen.

I was a bit emotional last night when we left Maddy with MomMom and PopPop. The realization that the next time she'd see us, she would no longer be an only child. Her life, as she knows it, is about to drastically change.

*********************************************************
9 people left in the baby pool for the date. The closest one is Joe C with 8/19 at 7:30 pm. Let's hope this child is here by then!

Baby Pool Stats

15 out of 53 people are still competing for the date (thanks to everyone who had me going early)

31 out of 53 guesses are for a boy. I still don't feel one way or the other about the sex of the baby. So much for a mother's intuition.

A Room for Baby

We are so much farther on the baby's room then we were with Maddy's room. We should be, since this one will actually be on time and not 3 weeks early. (But it was still a little stressful trying to get everything done, and I really couldn't help.) A big thank you to Shawn, "Brother Extraordinaire" for helping Chris with all the trim/moulding work in the room. And another thank you to Uncle Gary and Timmy for putting in the carpet. It was a group effort and I'm so happy with the room. And of course, thanks to Chris for all the time and effort he put into the room. It shows! Here are some pictures.

Still waiting on the curtains and the baby, of course!

**********************************************************************************
I thought I'd post a couple pictures of Maddy's room too. I love both rooms!

Brett's 8th Birthday

We celebrated Brett's 8th birthday on Aug 1. I found it difficult to get pictures this time around. Could they be sick of the camera? Hmmm....I wonder. Happy Birthday Brett!

Furniture and Amber

Timmy was a huge help with the Baby's room. He helped Chris pick up the baby's furniture and hung around and helped Chris put the crib together. Thanks Tim! Kate and Amber came along for the ride. Miss Maddy was so excited to see Amber! We can only hope she's as excited to see her little brother or little sister, next week!

Tina's Shower - July 27th

Tina had lots of little helpers while she opened gifts.

Guie Family Reunion - July 20th

We had our annual Guie Family Reunion at Aunt Bunny and Uncle Bob's. It was a very nice day. The pool sure felt great!!

I love my little girl with her hat on backwards. (she puts it on that way)

Kory & Dave's - July 19th

We had a great time at Kory and Dave's party. The kids especially. All kinds of water to play with.
